As I spent my quiet time with the Lord today, I saw myself looking down two roads. Two roads that looked oddly familiar and somewhat eerie. One road was the path of constantly seeking Jesus in all I do and praying faithfully through every situation. The other, was the road of being content and comfortable with life and my walk with God.
For some, being comfortable is a good thing. It’s a sense of security and sometimes a place of trust. But in this situation, it scares me to be too comfortable. I have found (especially when it comes to our walk with God) that when we sit comfortably by, the enemy is there working harder than ever to bring us down.
Let me ask you this; when you’re comfortable are you talking to God more or less? Are you spending that time with God daily and asking for guidance?
I don’t know about you but I speak to Him less, because I feel that I have everything that I need; and that my friends is the most perfect time for the enemy to come in and work. Less of the spirit and intimacy with the Father means more access for the enemy to come in and plant lies. That is why being comfortable makes me so scared. It’s happened before… it can happen again.
Being comfortable is not for me. Which road would you take?

Excellent post, girl. We must decrease so HE can increase!
Great post. I had never thought of it like that...great motivation to break out of our "comfort zone"!
That is a great point... it is so easy to put our faith on the back burner when everything is going great... We need to remember to stay close and praise Him through the good times and the bad =)
Great song! Lily
love this post and that song! hearing that song on the radio was what the lord used to confirm that i was supposed to stay in zambia for 3 months. love your heart :)
I love this. We are not suppose to live in a comfort zone...we are to live in Him and by faith. The greatest things that have happened in my life have been when I seek His will and I step out in faith.
Blessings friend,
Amy
So true. When we get comfortable we forget to lean on Him each moment and for every thing.
Thanks for the reminder.
Thank you for this post Lyr- you know I am going through some stuff right now and while the "easier" or more "comfortable" thing for me to do at this very moment would be to just give in, I know that the Lord has great plans for me and that I need to get out of my comfort zone. God will reward his faithful servants and my prayer tonight is that I (and you and all your readers) continue on the path of the (un)comfortable. I loved what LeAnna said...we must decrease so He can increase!! Amen to that. Love you ;)
thank you for writing this, I needed that!
This is great.
I never thought of it
that way.
Have a great day friend :)
I love brandon heath! great post :)
Very inspirational. :)
Great post! I often fall into being comfortable and wishing I would not do that.
You are so right, and I believe I needed to hear that more than anything today. I am comfortable and have been for a time now....your right..I need to be seeking and talking to God all the time!
Thank you , you are my blessing today!
