Silent Sunday's - Explanation

So, I know a lot of you are wondering about my Silent Sunday photo from yesterday. Yea… maybe it wasn’t exactly the best photo to post without an explanation… but I really like it, and it sums up my week in an instant. :)

About a month ago, I went to the dermatologist to have this mole on my back looked at because my family (mom) had been bugging me about it for over a year to have it checked out. You may remember my “Shot in the Back” post, where it bled through my nice white shirt when they did the first removal. Turned out the mole was precancerous and after the first scrap; I had to come back in and get all the skin from around that area removed.

All in all, things are fine. There hasn’t been a ton of pain… I think that worst part of the healing process has got to be the itching. It doesn’t really hurt unless I hit it by mistake when I itch the sucker. If I scratch it… that’s when it hurts!!

The mole was not nearly as big as the stitches make it look to be. Below I have a picture of my back from my brother and sister-in-love’s wedding. I think after seeing the pictures of how black it was… it made me want to get it removed.

So there you have it… my explanation of my Silent Sunday. I also think its pretty cool that I freaking awesome scar on my back! I’m not sure why I like scars so much… maybe because they tell a story of your life. Or… maybe I’m just weird.

AW I knew it! My very good girlfriend went through a lot of procedures last month for Melanoma and thankfully no further treatment was needed past the removals but I remember right after, we would have to hug "gently."

Hope you heal quickly! I think scars are pretty cool too!

Ouch! I'm glad they got all of the precancerous tissue out! That's a pretty big scar. The secret to lessening it's appearance is to break open Vitamin E capsules and apply the serum.....after it heals of course. Mederma is good, but vitamin works just as well if not better, and it is much cheaper!
PS: check out my blog...I've left you an award!

I need to go get a few moles looked at, but this is exactly what holds me off. That pic made my stomach turn. Ouch!

Do you have to go to a specialist for that? If so, where did you go? I have one on my back that should be looked at, but I'm too much of a chicken (or maybe it's laziness) to go.

I have so many scars from stitches, I seem to be accident prone, a tip is to put spf 60 on the incision so it won't scar as badly!

Another tip is to use Mederma to reduce scaring. It's an inexpensive "scar care" product. I hope this simple post encourages people to have their moles checked out... It's simple and can be life saving.

My dad has had a lot of scars from moles. I think scars can be pretty cool...I actually have a large one on my cheek and lip from where a dog bit me when I was 11. I'd probably rather not have it on my face but the BF loves it and a lot of people think it's cool so it all works out in the end i guess!!!

Hi Lyryn. It's not pathetic. I'm excited for me too!!! YAAAAY!! Let the countdown begin :)

Glad to hear that your mole was nothing to be worried about, but I have to agree with SassyTimes. OUCH is right!
