Some of you might remember back in July when I wrote “A Story of a Girl.” It was just a small acknowledgment of how my brave little sister made the choice to make an adoption plan for her little baby boy, Dylan. One of the hardest things a mother could ever do; but ones of the most selfless acts to give her child everything.
Since then I haven’t written much on the topic because… well, my mom said that she was going to write about it on her blog; but hasn’t gotten the chance or the time to do it. I’m not going to take away from my mom telling the story (since she is an amazing writer and could tell the story way better than I) but I did want to give a brief update on how the little guy was doing.
If you have ever been part of an adoption process or been part of the foster care system, you know that once the adoptive parents has full parental control you may not ever get the chance to see that child ever again. It is solely up to the adoptive parents and what they feel is best for the child. Thank God this is not the case for my sister!
My sister and her boyfriend couldn’t have chosen two better people to be Dylan’s adoptive parents. My mom and I believe that it was God planned and perfectly orchestrated by Him! They have been more than wonderful in keeping us updated and sending us pictures. Our family was so blessed to find such a great couple!
As for Dylan, he is doing great! Dylan’s mommy says that he eats great, sleeps great, and loves being with his daddy. Ha… sounds like his cousin Jayden!!! They spent most of the summer at their beach house (lucky), but if he is anything like his birth mommy he won’t be able to get enough of the sun! ;) Here are some resent update photos from Dylan’s amazing adoptive mommy!
Isn’t he just adorable!?

What a beautiful little boy. And I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been for your sister to make that decision. But it's selfless women like her that help couples become parents, when they are unable to naturally. Such an enormous gift!
He is so cute! It is such a blessing that the adoptive parents are willing to share with your family. I know sometimes it can be a very difficult situation.
Oh, he is precious! That must have been difficult for your sister, but how amazing that his adoptive parents keep everyone updated! They all (your sister included!) sound like very special people.

He is gorgeous!! What a wonderful and selfless act to give to him. Your sister and her boyfriend sound like amazing people [much like you, my dear!]. I love that his adoptive parents are sharing his new life with all of you; it would be heartbreaking for you to never know how he was developing and how much he was loving and thriving through his life. Bless everyone and this sweet little bundle of joy. xoxo.

thanks for visiting my blog!
That is so amazing! My Mom used to work for a Crisis Pregnancy Center where girls that were considering abortion would go for counseling. They always tried to reccommend adoption if the girls just did not or could not raise the child. I always wondered how it would turn out- it's great to see how beautifully this has turned out for your entire family. What a true work of God!
Being new here I had to read "A Story of a Girl" first and come back to this.
And my heart is just overflowing with feeling my words won't be able to convey.
What an amazing story. Your sister is so strong. I cannot even begin to imagine. She chose a higher path than so many, the road less traveled for sure. And the lives that are blessed by her decision...
I cannot imagine how hard it must have been and possibly still is.
What a total cutie baby Dylan is, a life ordained by God for sure!
Thank you for sharing her story. All too often we hear stories of poor choices and broken hearts and not enough of these ones where hearts can be repaired and lives can be blessed.

What a gorgeous, happy little boy...and what an absolutely beautiful story! I know several incredible couples who (for one reason or another) cannot conceive, and they turn to adoption. Your sister gave one of the most precious gifts imaginable - a baby. I cannot begin go tell you how much I was moved both by this post and the "A Story of a Girl" post. You truly are an incredible writer.
So glad you found my blog. I find yours to be incredibly inspiring, and I love it!
What a touching story, and a beautiful little boy. I can't even begin to imagine what a life long image of God's faithfulness this will be, to not only your sister, but everyone involved. She's a brave young woman!
