A Sweet, Sweet Visit

I hope you all had a great weekend and that you all are having a fantastic start to your week. I find that I’m blogging less and less, sorry about that. No excuses really… Just trying to find myself and get myself ready for this new arrival that will be here a week from today! Can you believe it? We are so excited! There is so much for me to catch up on and hopefully I will make some time this week to do so, but for today I just wanted to update you all on little Dylan.

Many of you can remember my post almost a year ago about my amazing little sister who had a son and made the amazing choice to gift him for adoption. It was incredibly hard to see her do it and I could never stand here and say that I could be so STRONG to do something like that. But she made the best decision for her son and thankfully today she doesn’t regret it for one moment. She and her boyfriend, Henry picked such a great couple who was and has been the best match in every way.

Little Dylan went to a wonderful family who loves him so VERY much! This adopted family is so incredible and still to this day keeps in contact with our family. Open adoptions can be very scary at times, and some end up cutting of all communication with the birth parents and they will never get to see the child they brought into the world ever again. Thankfully, these people have hearts of gold and understand exactly what my sister and Henry needed to make this possible. They always keep them informed, photos; meet ups, just the right amount of contact and they really do care about my sister and Henry’s desire to be a part of Dylan’s life in some way. Who could ask for anything more!

This past Saturday my mom and I were honored to be invited to come along with Johnna and Henry to see him (in person) after 11 months! It was WONDERFUL! It was so great to see him in his environment and how much he was growing and becoming such a little man. We had seen tons of pictures through the years, but it was different to see him in person; play with him; and hold him. It was wonderful!

He is a huge bundle of joy and smiles all the time. He looks more and more like my sister. It’s amazing. He has her eyes! But I must say that he fits perfectly with his adoptive parents as well. I think he might even look a little like his adoptive mommy too. That must be the Italian in both of them. ;) All in all, the visit was a success and such a blessing!

Here are a few pictures from that visit…
