For the last month, Jayden has been very enthusiastic about letting us know when he had gone to the bathroom in his diaper. This kid does not like being dirty!! With all the reading that I have done on potty training I know that when the child is letting you know it’s time to change him, he understands the concept of going to the bathroom. So I took this as a sign when I saw little Jay-man sitting on the toilet with toilet paper wrapped around himself!!!
Since Jayden was about one, I told myself that I wanted to potty train him before his second birthday. Since the signs have been obviously clear, I have decided to make a goal and get my son potty trained. Let’s just call it a birthday present to mommy!
With every goal, you need a plan! So yesterday, I made a date of when I would start this excruciating process of potty training and went out and bought everything I would need for these five terrible days of pure and utter torture!
Next Wednesday is when it begins… wish me luck!

Love the pictures!
Good luck with the potty training. My son was super easy to train, so I hope it's the same for you!
He looks so cute wrapped up in toilet paper. Good luck girl.
That picture is priceless! Good luck, we are still working on the potty training here at nap and bedtime.
Hi there! I just found your blog through Katie and Paige.
Your boy is TOO precious! Good luck with potty training! I was good to go before I was two so it's possible!!
Good Luck! Be sure to post any pointers that you discover during the process for all of the rest of us!
Ahh good luck! It was hard enough to potty train my 5 lb dog, and she still isn't very good if I am gone for LONG periods of time. You will do great!
Good Luck- it wasnt as bad as I thought it to be for us! So keep good spirits. We did 2 m&Ms for #1 and then the mini race cars for #2 for about a week. In J's first week we only had 3 accidents- pretty good if you ask me!
How old is he again? He is so cute! I want to potty train so bad especially since I have one on the way! My son SOOO isn't ready for it though.
Let us know how it goes! My son is giving me 'the signs' too, but I am intimidated by the whole potty training thing!
Hopefully I can learn from you guys!
oh good luck! I'm not looking forward to that one, but I've got a long ways. I've helped potty-train kiddos before and it's not an easy task. Every kid is different, maybe Jayden will be a pro :)
I am currently in the throws of potty training too. We started before Natey truned 2 but he is slow going. He always tells me when he has to poop, but never when he has to pee. I have to stay on top of it and take him potty every 30-45 minutes or so to make sure I don't miss it. I am embarking on an all undies (no pullups) quest next week and see if having a few accidents in undies will help him realize when he needs to tell me! Good luck!
Hahaha oh my gosh look at him. How funny! Good luck with the potty training. I heard boys are a pain to potty train, but how worth it will it be once he is trained?
He is so cute! My 1st potty trained early ~ he was trained enough to wear underwear during the day (pull-ups at night) by age 2 and fully potty trained by 2.5. Which I hear is not the "norm" for boys. My 2nd made up for it though... he was a bear to train and didn't get the hang of it till he was 3.5! Good luck!!! ;)
Good luck! I hope it goes well... if not there will at least be good stories.
I hope it goes well for you! It was such a struggle for me with mine, he just didn't want to cooperate even tho I knew he knew better. Anyway, good luck!
I hope you'll let us know how it goes!!! I'm afraid to start!
When is his bday?! Matthew will be two in November.
Too cute!! Good luck!! We trained our little boy (he was 25 months) with the 3 day method and I was completly SHOCKED at how quick he picked it up. We have been in big boy underware since July now. Hopefully he'll do good.
Good luck! Boys are harder, but trainable! ;) My advice is set a timer for every 15 minutes, make sure he goes, if he doesn't, set it for every 5 minutes until he goes. Then ween him off longer and longer each day. :)
Oh my goodness, that is TOO cute! Good luck, and thank you for the sweet comment :)
What a big boy you have now! He is just adorable! Good luck with this next step. Hope you have fun in the process :)
those pictures are awesome lyryn! i cannot believe he did that... haha... ok wait maybe i can. it is jayden after all! lol!
good luck on the potty training. call me if you need any reinforcements. ;)
I am not looking forward to potty training AT ALL. I know I still have a little while, but still! I'll be looking for some tips! =)
Good Luck!!!!!! I need to tackle that with Caleb too...maybe you can give pointers after you're done :)
Good Luck and keep us posted of his progress. It'll be so nice to be done with diapers.
Much luck to you! I love the pics of your little guy wrapped in t.p. Too cute!
Good luck! FYI- stickers as a reward works great! At least it worked well for my younger siblings back in the day. It was all about the Barney stickers!
Aww, haha what a silly boy all wrapped up! Good luck with the "potty training boot camp" =)
Just found your blog! Love it! Lovely to "meet" you!
Yip....reason #546,829 why I want to have a baby soooo bad :)
I have no idea what you-Mommies are going through and would love the chance :)
Happy Potty Training...
I am taking notes, ya know...
Best of luck to you and your little man!!! =D
Sorry I haven't commented back sooner! Thank you for your sweet comments. Jayden is too stinking cute!!!!! I just want to hug him. Good luck with the potty training...my friend puts a couple of cheerios in the toilet for "targets". Haha. It cracks me up, but it totally works for them.
Good luck girl! I love that 1st picture! so funny!
